Spring
Showcase 2012
Our performances were
very successful and we thank everybody who
participated and helped us out!
Studio Company Gala Performance
We had a lovely studio performance featuring
our advanced dancers and had a fundraiser
reception afterward. Our dancers danced
beautifully and we are very proud of
everybody.
Parking
We remind you to drive slowly and carefully in our
parking lots, and to park only in our lots on
Wright Street (by Studio 1) and the strip
alongside our building next to Studios 2 and 3. We
ask parents and friends to enter our parking lots
with great care and vigilance for the sake of our
precious children. We also ask that you be
considerate of our neighbors; we bring a lot of
children and cars into their space. Finally, we
ask that children, especially siblings of
students, not play or go near the rocks in the
front of our Studio 1 entrance. Our neighbors have
had a window broken and we will have to pick up
damages if this happens again. No playing in
rocks, no rock throwing! Parents and friends,
please help with this!
Performance Photographs
Photographs from our past performances are
available for members of our school and are
password-protected. Please go to our Performances page for the links.

About Our School
|
Philosophy
We follow the philosophy of
Danilova and Balanchine, who believed that the
quality of ballet instruction was more important
than the quantity. This philosophy is followed by
some of the most selective schools in the United
States, including the School of American Ballet in
New York City. We encourage our students to have
other interests in addition to ballet, knowing
that not everyone plans a career in dance. We also
provide daily classes for intermediate and
advanced students who are very serious about their
studies.
Curriculum
The syllabus used at our
school is based on the Russian system of dance
training, which is taught at most major
professional schools. We also incorporate other
styles of ballet into our classes to ensure that
our students are able to adapt to different dance
and choreographic techniques. Please visit our Curriculum
page for details.
Location and Facilities
Our ballet campus is
located at 295B Polaris Avenue, Mountain View,
California, where we have three studios. For the
safety and comfort of our dancers, each studio has
a sprung dance floor. Click here
for a printable map and driving directions.
Enrollment
Approximately 250 students
attend our school during the academic year. During
the summer we offer an intensive ballet program to
approximately 100 students.
Registration
Families new to our school
should call or visit our ballet campus to obtain
registration forms. These forms must be
completed and returned to the school prior to
admission. Pacific Ballet Academy reserves the
right to determine the proper class level of all
entering students, regardless of their prior
training.
Performances
Ballet is a performing art,
and we feel that participation in performances is
an important part of our students' training. We
provide two opportunities for performance
experience each year at the Mountain View Center
for the Performing Arts: in the late Fall we stage
The Nutcracker and in the late Spring we
stage our school recital, the Summer Showcase.
For more information, please visit our Performances
page.
Wellness Clinic
As a special service to our
students, we offer a monthly Wellness Clinic,
where our students can meet with Chiropractor Dr.
Rick Chaeff to discuss injuries, strengthening and
stretching exercises, and proper nutrition. There
is no charge for this service, and parents are
encouraged to accompany their dancer to the
clinic. |
